BREAKING: Spring Beaulieu and Bromley Pageant Join The Growing Casualty List; Goodwood Members Meeting Postponed
BEAULIEU'S SPRING AUTOJUMBLE and Bromley Pageant of Motoring, two of the highlights of the show/'jumbling calendar, drawing visitors from all over the world, have fallen to the coronavirus crisis and will not now be held this year.
In a message to beleagured autojumblers telling them that the May 16/17 event is off, Beaulieu's Events Team posted the following on their website today:
"We are sorry to have to tell you that we have made the difficult decision to cancel Spring Autojumble. Due to the ongoing coronavirus Covid-19 situation, we have made this early but difficult decision mainly because of the event's significant infrastructure complexity and planning lead-in times, as well as the current travel difficulties faced by overseas visitors.
"As one of our biggest events, which attracts a good number of event-goers in the category that has been advised by the Government to self-isolate, our priority remains the wellbeing of our exhibitors, visitors, suppliers, staff and volunteers. We have only made this decision after a good deal of consideration and are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
"We will of course refund exhibitor payments which have already been made or your booking and payment can be rolled over to Spring Autojumble 2021. Please email [email protected] if you would like to roll over your booking and payment to 2021.
"Refunds will be by cheque to the named principal stallholder over the coming weeks, post-dated cheques will be voided and we will confirm by letter that this has been done.
"As we are following the Government's advice to ask staff to work from home we will only have a skeleton staff in the offices, so please bear with us. If you have a query then, if possible, please contact by email on [email protected] rather than by telephone.
"We continue to follow the latest Government advice, so at present the attraction remains open to visitors and we are still planning to go ahead with Simply Aston Martin on April 5th and Simply Audi on April 19th. Both events will take place outdoors, where owners will be invited to park their vehicles in the grounds of the National Motor Museum. Please see our website for the latest news updates.
"We look forward to welcoming you back for an even bigger and better International Autojumble on September 5th & 6th, and would like to thank you for your continued loyalty and support.

And Bromley Pageant of Motoring, due to take place in Norman Park on June 21, has been postponed for a year until June 2021. From their website:
"Bromley Pageant of Motoring Postponed to 13th June 2021 due to the COVID-19 Outbreak
"In light of the developing situation surrounding the Coronavirus, A-ME Event Management, organisers of the Bromley Pageant of Motoring, working with the venue have concluded that due to the emergency services not supporting gatherings as they obviously have to deal with much higher priority situations, we have no option but to postpone the event until 2021. Our confirmed new date is 13th June 2021 at Norman Park, Bromley.
"We would like to thank the support of our venue partners, our customers, clubs, traders and sponsors for their patience and understanding at this time. We look forward to friends, family and like-minded enthusiasts enjoying a great day out next Summer.
"All purchased tickets including Club, One Make Parking and Special Display entries will automatically be valid on the new date, you do not need to receive replacement tickets.
"If you have any further queries, please email us at [email protected] or call 07375 554420."

This month's 78th Goodwood Members' Meeting has been postponed - a statement on the event website reads: "As you have probably heard, the UK Government has recently taken the decision to restrict large-scale public events as a means of controlling the spread of the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. As a result we are sorry to inform you that 78MM will be postponed until further notice.
"In 2014, after a hiatus of 48 years, Goodwood staged the 72nd Members’ Meeting, successfully reviving a series that began in 1949. In 2018, the 76th Members’ Meeting raced on through the ‘Beast From The East’, while other events succumbed to the freezing conditions. We hoped that, by following UK Government advice in full, and implementing a number of additional safety and hygiene protocols, we could ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ as coronavirus threatened the 78th Members’ Meeting. Alas, with the situation constantly evolving, and in light of the UK Government’s latest announcement about restrictions on mass gatherings, 78MM will no longer take place on its previously announced dates.
"The 78th Members' Meeting was due to take place on March 28th-29th, with a packed schedule of 14 incredible races, including a new format for the iconic Gerry Marshall Trophy and the two-part S.F. Edge Trophy, plus three amazing demonstrations — celebrating the historic TWR Jaguar XJRs, the Lotus 72 and its contemporaries, and Goodwood's first ever night-time rally sprint. We are confident it was going to be the best event yet, and are devastated at the postponement, but it goes without saying that the safety of Goodwood’s visitors, competitors, staff and volunteers must always come first.
"While the coronavirus pandemic continues to be an ever changing situation, the Goodwood team are currently exploring a range of alternative dates for 78MM, consulting with all relevant parties, and we will keep you informed as the situation develops.
"In the meantime, we will continue planning for the Festival of Speed and Revival, in the hope that both events will be able to go ahead as planned on July 9th-12th and September 11th-13th respectively, as well as looking forward to the rescheduled 78th Members’ Meeting.
