MORTONS REJIG THEIR EVENTS YEAR

MORTONS REJIG THEIR EVENTS YEAR

LIKE EVERY SHOW ORGANISER in this virus afflicted nation, Lincolnshire based Mortons Events, part of the Mortons Media group, have torn up their schedule for 2020, rejigged it...and torn it up again.

They've postponed several of their events until later in the year, but have announced that they will be holding no more shows at Royal Bath & West Showground, Shepton Mallet in 2020; that includes one of the longest running events in the UK, the much-loved Britstol Classic Car Show. Events at Shepton will resume with Mortons with The Great Western Classic Car Show on February 13/14, 2021.

Mortons say: "Following the recent announcement from the UK Government, Mortons Events has had to cancel the Bristol Classic Car Show, 20-21st June and the Classic Vehicle Restoration Show, 7-8th November held at the Royal Bath & West Showground, Shepton Mallet.

"The safety and well-being of our visitors, exhibitors, partners, contractors and staff is the most important factor and the key reason for cancelling the shows. The events team have been continually monitoring the latest public health and Government guidelines regarding the evolving COVID-19 situation and acting in accordance with their advice.

"All tickets and trade bookings will be refunded and a member of our team will be in touch to discuss this in due course. If however you would like to get in contact with us sooner, you can.

"For all ticket enquiries please contact our Customer Services team on 01507 529529 or email [email protected]. For all trade enquiries please contact our Shows team on 01507 529430 or email [email protected] - lines are open Monday-Friday, 8.30am-5pm.

"Thank you all for your patience, understanding and support in these unprecedented times."

Similarly, Mortons events at Tatton Park, in Knutsford, Cheshire have been hit. They say: "Due to the worsening situation of the coronavirus pandemic and recent announcements from the UK Government, Mortons Events have had to postpone the Classic and Performance Car Spectacular due to be held at Tatton Park, Knutsford on the 6-7th June...

"We have a new date for the show at Tatton Park, Knutsford, which will now take place on Saturday 15th August to Sunday 16th August 2020. Due to the move of the Classic and Performance Car Spectacular it will now merge with its sister show, Passion for Power creating one mega car show." To date Mortons have no plans to scrap the Classic American Stars & Stripes show at Tatton on July 4/5, though that, obviously, may change.

Similarly, their enormous 40th Carole Nash Classic Motorcycle Show at Stafford Showground, due to take place Ap[ril 25/26 was initially postponed until June, but is now planned for Saturday 15th August to Sunday 16th August 2020. Mortons hoped to resume Normous Newark Autojumble in June; they have now been suspended until September 20.Still in 'bike world, the Kempton Park Motorcycle Show and 'Jumble will resume on September 12.

May and June's Stratford Autojumbles have been scrapped; their next 'jumble at Straford Racecourse is planned for September 6.
