Website Exclusive: The 48th East Coast Run Promises 700 Plus Entries for 2016

The biggest event on the East Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club's busy calendar, the 48th East Coast Run, will be held on Sunday 12th June 2016.

The first EYTCC East Coast Run was held in 1968, and has been a staple ever since. The Club's Debbie Newton told CMM: "It is an extremely popular occasion, and last year it attracted over 700 diverse historic vehicles.

MG Northumbria & NECPWA North East put on an excellent showing last month to mark the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs’ Drive It Day.

MG Northumbria member Dave Stokoe told CMM: “53 cars assembled at The Linskill Centre in North Shields with a fantastic varied selection of classic cars for the 100 mile drive to celebrate Drive It Day on April 24. The drive took in some of the Northumberland coast line before heading inland through country lanes to the mid-way coffee and scone stop at Wheelbirks Farm and ice cream parlour.

2016 sees the 30th anniversary of one of Britain's best and most popular classic car shows; The Tatton Park Classic Car Spectacular.

On Saturday and Sunday June 4 & 5, some 2,000 classic and performance cars will be on display in north Cheshire's beautiful country park, near Knutsford.

Gatwick Airport, the UK’s second busiest airport, has been appointed the Official Airport and a partner of the 2016 Bonhams Veteran Car Run supported by Hiscox.

The Airport will be providing a warming drink to all participants at the start of the event – not just welcome but also likely to be much needed on an early November Sunday morning – and will be rewarding participants for their punctual arrival at the official finish line in Brighton’s Madeira Drive.
