Beaulieu Spring Autojumble - still time to book!

Beaulieu’s eagerly anticipated Spring Autojumble will return for its 23rd year on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd May, 2016, in the grounds of the National Motor Museum.

With over 1,000 stands, this highlight of the classic events calendar is the place to buy, sell and swap anything and everything automotive. Enthusiasts can browse countless spare parts and tools, as well as automobilia, motoring literature, model cars and even full-size classic car projects. From finding an elusive part for a restoration project to spotting a bargain, it offers an enjoyable weekend of motoring miscellany.

New for 2016, the Retro Caravan Club will celebrate the joys of camping and the adventure of the open road, with a display of its members’ period-perfect classic caravans, complete with matching tow cars of the era.

The Classic Hearse Register will also be showcasing a selection of its members’ hearses. These dignified, high-quality classics represent an often overlooked sector of motoring history and this club stand will certainly turn a few heads. Spring Autojumble regulars, the Wessex Car Club, will also have a stand, featuring an eclectic range of cars belonging to its members.

Practical Classics magazine, the media sponsor of the Spring Autojumble, will put its mechanical know-how to the test with an ambitious car rebuild challenge. A team will breathe new life into a decrepit Ford Model T, sourcing replacement parts from the stands at the show. The rebuild will start at the event with an aim to complete the project at Beaulieu’s International Autojumble in September, to demonstrate the staggering variety of spare parts on offer.

Up to 100 classic vehicles of all shapes and sizes will be offered for sale in the Automart, ranging from immaculate examples to restoration projects, while in the Dealermart, traders will display a wide range of high-quality classics to buy. Sunday will sell everything and anything Land Rover related in the Beaulieu Land Rover Rummage. A section of the show will be devoted to the nation’s favourite 4x4 with a popular feature and spares-sourcing opportunity for Land Rover owners.

Another Sunday highlight, Trunk Traders, will once again give amateur jumblers the chance to sell their excess motoring items from their car boots. For an end-of-show bargain, don’t miss the Walkabout Auction on Sunday afternoon, with guest auctioneer, Practical Classics Editor Danny Hopkins. Returning for its fifth year, this favourite gives exhibitors the opportunity to find homes for unsold stock, with no auction fees to pay. Just £1 buys a box for exhibitors to fill up (larger items can go alongside) to be auctioned off before the close of the show.

Visitors to the event can also enjoy all of the features of the Beaulieu attraction, included in their admission ticket. Don’t miss the National Motor Museum’s new Driving Change display, which explores motoring innovations, technology and safety throughout history and makes motoring predictions for the future. Visit On Screen Cars and World of Top Gear, take a stroll around the Montagu family home, Palace House, and explore the historic ruins of the 13th Beaulieu Abbey.

The on-the-day admission price, which includes access to all of the Beaulieu attractions, is £10.00 adult and £7.70 child, while tickets are even less if purchased online in advance at www.beaulieu.co.uk/events or through the ticket hotline, 01590 612888. Two-day tickets, giving admission to the show and the attraction for both days, are also available.

For would-be exhibitors, there is still time to book Autojumble stand spaces, with prices starting at just £67.50. Automart spaces are £35, while the cost of a Sunday Trunk Trader standard plot is just £20. For all stand bookings, please contact the Events Department on 01590 614614 or email [email protected].
