The E-type Club Round Britain Coastal Drive, supporting Prostate Cancer UK is really gathering momentum now.

Over 100 Jaguar E-types have already booked for one or more of the 18 daily stages round the coastal roads of Great Britain. One of those is Formula 1 legend Ross Brawn who masterminded Michael Schumacher's seven World Championships.

Brawn has a fantastic collection of cars, reflecting his time with Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz and Jaguar, including a pair of stunning E-types.

London based dealer Hexagon Classics say they  are 'proud' to offer for sale two of the lowest-mileage Jaguar E-Types in the world, both of which have been perfectly preserved since their creation in 1965.

Both cars, a Roadster and a Fixed Head Coupe, are Series 1 4.2-litre engined models in right-hand-drive and represent two of the most desirable examples of the legendary, iconic E-type in the world.

Admittedly there is only a remote chance of a CMM reader ever having even seen this machine from the early 20s but its construction must surely have been the most basic of the cycle cars available post WW1.

The need for the cheapest of transport saw the Economic Motors factory base itself in Wells St, London W1 from 1919.

A simple two (wicker) seat machine with an Ash wood frame, powered by a 165cc flat twin two stroke engine, the Economic total weight was just 150lbs.

Because of a factory fire at the Spot-on Belfast plant in 1967, this line of toy production ceased, guaranteeing this marque a collecting following in the years to come.

There may have been motorsport heroes on offer at this year’s Race Retro at Stoneleigh Park, but it was the fantastic line-up of Group B and C Rally cars in action on the Live Rally Stage that took the spotlight. Rallying with Group B presented around 60 cars with a mix of rally legends and modern day champions at the wheel.
